Newton veteran, Norman Baker, was the recipient of the quilt made from the inaugural Patriotic Quilt Block Project. He is shown with some of the ladies who helped organize the project.
The 2nd Annual Patriotic Quilt Block Project will begin on January 5th with donations of 6 1/2″ square blocks of patriotic theme with red, white, and blue colors. There will be a limit of four blocks per person and the last day to submit blocks will be on July 4, 2024. The donated blocks will be sewn into a lap-sized quilt and presented to a veteran of Jasper County at the Veterans Day program on November 11, 2024.
