Work Week 2025: Building Community Through Service with Honey Do Ministries and Applications Open

Work Week 2025 is just around the corner, and the excitement is already building! Applications are coming in steadily, and the community is preparing for another powerful week of service and transformation led by Honey Do Ministries. If you or someone you know would benefit from assistance during this special week, applications are now available and can be picked up at local churches, The Master’s Hands in Newton, or requested by email. All applications must be returned before June 1st, so don’t wait!

Every year, Honey Do Ministries organizes a week of compassionate action, bringing together men, women, and youth from across Jasper County and beyond. But Work Week is about more than just painting fences or repairing porches. It’s about forming connections, supporting neighbors, and uplifting the community—one project at a time.

From simple tasks like cleaning out cabinets or chatting with an elderly resident, to bigger jobs like building wheelchair ramps or restoring homes, every act of kindness is a thread in the fabric of a stronger, more united community. Volunteers donate their time, energy, and talents to improve the lives of others—not for recognition, but out of love and service.

Each morning during Work Week, volunteers gather at Grace United Methodist Church at 7:15 AM for breakfast and a devotion. From there, they head out in teams to tackle projects throughout the area. If you can’t make the morning meeting, that’s okay—help is welcome at any point throughout the day, even if it’s just for an hour or two.

The diversity of volunteers is part of what makes Work Week so inspiring. A group from Charleston returns each year, as do a passionate group of teens from Chicago. Volunteers range in age and skill level, but everyone is welcomed with open arms and a shared purpose.

Even after Work Week ends, the mission continues. Many volunteers stay involved throughout the year, picking up projects that couldn’t be finished or responding to new needs as they arise. Their commitment ensures that Honey Do Ministries is not just a one-week wonder, but a lasting force for good in Jasper County.

If you’d like to join the effort, whether by volunteering your time or donating to support the mission, contact Debbie at (618) 554-4987 or Quincy at (618) 553-4690. Honey Do Ministries is a non-profit organization powered by the generosity of local churches and individuals, and every contribution helps make more dreams a reality.

Let’s come together for Work Week 2025—because when we serve others, we strengthen the heart of our community.
