What made you decide this school was the best fit for you?

OCC stood out to me, because of their musicals, and their amazing theater department. It’s also close to home, and Jon’s initiative to help me and get to know me, stood out.

How do you feel NCHS has prepared you for this next step in life?

The staff at NCHS, not only the music teacher but all teachers always have your best interest at heart. They will always support you, and help you make realistic plans for the future. They have helped me find a good plan to do what I’m passionate about as a career.

What are at least two life lessons you have learned from your musical time at NCHS ?

It isn’t easy. You have to put the work in, and try to be what you want. Also, the cast has taught me that it is okay to be myself.

How have your instructors and/or directors helped prepare you to perform at a collegiate level?

My color guard coach, and dance instructor Kristie Finley has always been there for me. She has pushed me to limits that i didn’t know I could get to. She pushes me while also reassuring me that I know my body best, and when/if I need a break, I can take one. She has trusted me to always be at my best. While also being there for me when I wasn’t.

What will you miss the most next year about not being a Newton Eagle?

The close knit family that all my activities has given me. Color Guard, Cheer, and Musical has always thrown me into this family that I don’t think I could find anywhere else. In and out of the activity those people are there for you. I will definitely miss the closeness that I achieved at NCHS.
