Accounts Payable Specialist
Position Summary: Responsible for processing outgoing payments in compliance with financial policies
and procedures. The AP Specialist will perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying,
classifying and recording accounts payable data. The individual will also be responsible for reconciling
the accounts payable account. To ensure all invoices and payments are accounted for and properly
posted to the correct general ledger accounts
Specific Job Duties:
• Managing Accounts Payable utilizing accounting software and other programs
• Handling Accounts Payable for separate entities and vendors
• Analyzing workflow processes
• Establishing and maintaining relationships with new and existing vendors
• Ensuring invoices are paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to departmental
procedures
• Processing due invoices for payments
• Comparing purchase orders, prices, terms of payment and other charges
• Provide data for audits, examinations and documentation as requested by CFO
• Vendor Management- Maintain up-to-date Vendor Files, including Tax Status, address, W9, etc.
• Annually review vendor files for appropriate 1099 tax reporting
• Maintain sub-ledgers in excel for tracking of Accrued and Prepaid Expenses, reconcile with
general ledger monthly
• Processing transactions and performing accounting duties such as account maintenance,
recording entries and reconciling books of accounts
Areas of Responsibility:

Education and Experience:
• 2+ years of Accounts Payable experience, preferred
Experience in Microsoft Office products including, Excel, Word, Outlook
