Area Students Awarded JC Soil and Water Conservation District Scholarships

Press Release: Scholarship Winner

The Jasper County Soil & Water Conservation District has awarded five
scholarships this year. A $1500.00 scholarship was awarded to Alexis Hetzer,
daughter of Mark and Tami Hetzer. Alexis will graduate this May from Newton
Community High School and plans to attend Lakeland College to study Pre Vet.
A $1500.00 scholarship was awarded to Emma Rauch, daughter of Chris and
Lori Rauch. Emma will graduate this May from Newton Community High School
and plans to attend Olney Central College to study Animal Science. A $1500.00
scholarship was awarded to Taylor Slough, daughter of Christian and Lynn
Slough. Taylor will graduate this May from Newton Community High School and
plans to attend Lakeland College to study Agriculture Business. A $1500.00
scholarship was awarded to Leslie Burtis, daughter of Nicole Zumbahlen, Ted
and Kerrie Burtis. Leslie will graduate this May from Newton Community High
School and plans to attend Wabash Valley College to study Heavy Diesel
Equipment Technology. A $1500.00 scholarship was awarded to Alexanndria
Osborne, daughter of Shelah Bergbower and Chadd Osborne. Alexanndria is
currently enrolled at Lake Land College studying Ag Business and Supply.

The applicants must be a Jasper County resident and be entering or enrolled in a
natural resource/conservation area, environmental science, biology or an
agricultural related major.
