What made you decide this school was the best fit for you?
I decided OCC would be the best fit for me because it provides the opportunity to explore my academic interests while continuing to develop as an athlete.
How do you feel NCHS has prepared you for this next step in life?
NCHS prepared me for the next step in life by teaching my how to balance classes and multiple sport at once.
What are at least two life lessons you have learned from sports?
Softball has taught me that you’re going to fail more times than you succeed, and that’s okay. It’s also shown me that you can control your effort, but not always the outcome. Sometimes you hit the ball perfectly and it’s still an out, but it teaches you to focus on what you can control your effort, attitude, and hustle.
How have your coaches (and assistant coaches) helped prepare you to play at a collegiate level?
My coaches have helped prepare me for this next step by pushing me past my limits on and off the field, which has shaped me into the athlete and person I am today. I couldn’t be more grateful for them.
What will you miss the most next year about not being at NCHS?
There are a few things I’ll miss about not being at NCHS next year. I’ll miss my teammates the most, but I’ll also miss not being able to play with my little sister. I’ll miss the coaches and volunteers too. They are all kind, generous, and treat us like their own family. And im so grateful they’ve been here to help me.
