Betty Lou Utley, age 82, of Bethany, Illinois, and formerly of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 12:12 PM – Sunday, February 21,2021, at her home surrounded by family.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM – Thursday, February 25, 2021, at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois, with Boone Farney officiating. Burial will be in the Vanderhoof Cemetery south of Newton, Illinois. Visitation will be held 1 hour before the service. The obituary can be viewed and condolences left at www.meyerfh.com.
Betty was born on September 22, 1938, in Montrose, Illinois, the daughter of Clyde and Clara (Hingson) Yocum. She was united in marriage to Jesse Utley on June 15, 1957, in Newton, Illinois, and he preceded her in death on August 23, 2007.
Betty was a homemaker and a loving wife, mom, and grandmother.
Betty enjoyed playing bingo, crossword puzzles and painting.

Children – Rodney (Joyce) Utley of Geneva, Illinois; Patricia (Steve) Dhom of Newton, Illinois; Sherry Timbush (Noah Miller) of Cherry Valley, Illinois and Vicki McClain of Bethany, Illinois
Son-in-law – Richard McCabe of Bethany, Illinois

Special companions – her chihuahua dogs and cat
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Brenda McCabe, granddaughter Lakrista Mace, brothers Richard Yocum and Earl Yocum and a sister Leona Baker
