Following is a summary of minutes of a regular meeting of the Board of Education of Jasper County Community Unit School District No. 1 held in the office of the Board of Education on Monday, November 21st, 2022. Board members present were Mrs. Mandy Rieman, Mrs. Holly Farley, Mr. Bill Meinhart, Mrs. Mandi Utley and Mr. Jason Kuhl. Members absent were Mr. Jerry L. Jed Earnest and Mr. Brady Shull.
All votes are considered unanimous unless otherwise noted.
Mandy Rieman called the meeting to order.
Agenda was approved as presented.
Mandy asked for Recognition of Guests and Public Comments. There were none.
There were 5 FOIA request status reports. FOIA #1 response to Mr. Van Buer. A request for information requested on Mr. Jerry Jed Earnest, a request for review from the PAC dated February 22nd, 2022, copy of district’s response dated February 14th, 2022, copy of Mr. Earnest’s reply dated March 1st, 2022, and a copy of the letter issued by Deputy Bureau Chief Joshua Jones. FOIA #2 – #5 requesting personnel file information and emails/and or canned responses for Mr. Andy Johnson and personnel file information for Mr. Joe Sornberger.

Under the superintendent’s report, Mr. Sornberger discussed the Illinois School Report Card Update and allowed the school principals to discuss the results from the Annual Summative Designations.
Approval of the FY 22 Annual Finance Report,
Kemper CPA Group presented Finance Report to the Board,
Discussion of the process of issuing Health Life Safety Bonds for Jasper County School District, but no action taken either for or against,
Further discussion on the bonds topic for the Various District-wide projects, but no action taken,
Approval of recommendation to post Option #2 for the 2022 Tax Levy,
Approval of letting bids for District fuel,
The board went into executive session at 7:30 PM for 1.5 ILCS 120/2 ( c ) ( 1 ) – To Consider Information Regarding Appointment, Employment or Dismissal of Individual Employees or Legal Counsel,
Approval to return to open session at 8:00 PM,
Approval of the resignation of Dee Bower as Full Time Bus Driver and Chaperone effective August 1st, 2023.
Approval to hire Mr. Justin Kelsheimer, Ms. Heather Kistner, Mrs. Vicki Wermert, Mrs. Jennifer Eaton, Mrs. Alexandra Boggs, and Ms. Samantha Will as Tutors for After School Tutoring Programs for the 2022-2023 School Year.
Approval to advertise for an NCHS Assistant Scholastic Bowl Coach for the 2022-2023 School Year.
