Following is a summary of minutes of a regular meeting of the Board of Education of Jasper County
Community Unit School District No. 1 held in the office of the Board of Education on Monday, March
20 th , 2023 held in the office of the Board of Education. Board members present were Mrs. Mandy
Rieman, Mr. Bill Meinhart, Mrs. Mandi Utley, Mr. Brady Shull, and Mr. Jason Kuhl. Board members
absent were Mrs. Holly Farley, and Mr. Jerry L. Jed Earnest.
All votes are considered unanimous unless otherwise noted.
Mandy Rieman called the meeting to order.
Agenda was approved as presented.
Mandy asked for Recognition of Guests and Public Comments.
There were 2 FOIA request status reports. FOIA #1 response to Pullen’s request for a video via thumb
drive of February 20, 2023 school board meeting. FOIA #2 request from SmartProcure for any and all
purchasing records from 11/21/2022 to current.

District,

Approval of Disposition of Surplus library books from Newton Elementary,
Approval of Disposition of Surplus Technology Items,
Under the Superintendent’s Report, the District’s HVAC project is delayed due to items being
backordered. There was a presentation on the District’s work on establishing both the PACE
Framework and Career Pathways programs to allow each student in grades 6-12 the opportunity to
identify pathways that lead to further career success. A resignation letter was noted from Board
Member Jed Earnest resigning from the Board as of March 20 th , 2023.
