Bracelets for A Friend

Laura Gentry knows the importance of being a good friend and set out on a mission to do exactly that when she made the decision to help out her friend’s family by making and selling bracelets to raise money for them. Her friend’s father has cancer and Laura could see the stress on not only her friend, but also her friend’s family.

When asked about what she did, how she did it, and why she wanted to, Laura stated,

“I have been thinking about her and her family for awhile. What made me decide to do this was I had seen that my friend had been down for awhile and when I went to her house I seen that her mom was stressed out and her dad had all of the spots from the cancer then I knew I needed to help them out. I came up with the idea like I had already had over 700 bracelets made and I thought what if I just use those and see how many I can sell to get money to help them I started out with not getting very many then after 3 days I got $900 the on Sunday they were having trade days I thought if I sold them there I could get more to help them out so I set out at trade days as you no it was very windy and cold that day and my bracelets kept blowing of the table but I wanted to help there family out. We sat out there for 5 hours and ended up getting $85 more. My aunt bought some from me and put a post out there for if anyone else wanted to buy bracelets and we ended up getting $36 more. We had made it to $1,011.50! ”

Laura also stated, “To be a good friend you just have to see how much they are hurting and what you can do to help! I would like to say that I just wanted to see her and her family happy ?❤! It made me so happy to be able to help her out and now I know why God wanted me to make all of those bracelets and bring me to be friends with her. She is one of the bestest friends I have ever had and it hurts me to see her sad. I knew God’s plan all along to help her family.”
