Brenden Sherman Presents Eagle Scout Project at Newton Elementary

Brenden Sherman presented a sensory board (Minds What Matter) to Mrs Niemerg’s class after working with the class for his Disability Awareness Merit Badge in 5th or 6th grade and enjoyed helping out. He decided he wanted to assist them in a way that would go beyond the current class, so he created a tool for her classroom that can be used for many years. Brenden’s inspiration for the project stemmed from his desire to assist other kids. He also concluded that he was able to help a group sometimes overlooked and it made him feel good to be able to do this. Brenden would like to thank Mr. Johnson and Mrs. Bales for giving him the opportunity to be able to do this project. He said he would encourage other kids or scouts to do engage in a project like this.
