
The Newton Lady Eagles soared past the Marshall Lady Lions with a final score of 70-38. The Lady Eagles dominated the court and celebrated successes as Camryn Martin broke the steals record set by Coryn Reich (1996-2000). Camryn will continue to set a new record for the school as the season progresses and she sails past record breaking 383rd steal.
Between the JV and Varsity games, Brad Harris was recognized for his 200th career victory with the Lady Eagles which happened at the Fairfield Merry Mule Tournament over Christmas break.
The Lady Eagles began their domination with 24 points in the first quarter to Marshall’s 7. By the half, the Eagles had created a lead of 37-15. In the third quarter, the Eagles scored 25 to the Lions 12 and the final quarter allowed the Lions to score 11 on the Eagles who only scored 8.
