Carla May Harris, age 63, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 9:48 PM – Thursday, May 19, 2022, at HSHS St John’s Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.
Funeral services celebrating Carla’s life will be held at 10:00 AM – Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois. Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton, Illinois, with Rick Britton officiating. Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 PM – Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at the funeral home. Carla May was born on October 27, 1958, in Pana, Illinois, the daughter of Delton Ray and Thelma Louise (Gean) McGlothlin.
Carla took care of children with her daycare business for 35 years. She was a member of the Newton Christian Church and enjoyed playing BINGO.
Carla is survived by:
Children – Delbert (Erin) Harris of Greenup, Illinois; Tim (Jessica) Harris of Newton, Illinois and Kristin Dallmier of Newton, Illinois
Grandchildren – Alex, Ava, Payton, Parker, Preston, Landon, Paislee and Aiden
Siblings – Alice Collins of Robinson, Illinois; Carlton McGlothlin of Jacksonville, Illinois; twin sister Darla Jackson of Newton, Illinois and Berlen (Jo) McGlothlin of Newton, Illinois
Carla was preceded in death by her parents, brother Delton McGlothlin, Jr, infant brother and sister Sharon Garrard.
