The Newton Marching Eagles placed second in Class 2A competition at Eastern Illinois University out of 21 schools. The Eagles also received Best Drum Major and. Best Auxiliary. The Eagles will travel to Metamora on Saturday, October 12 where they will perform at 8 pm.

The Newton Public Library will be hosting Story Time for ages 0-5 every Thursday at 10:30 am starting on October 3. Children are welcome to listen to stories and make a craft afterwards.

The Newton Marching Eagles will host the 29th Annual Marching Eagles Band Classic on September 28 at the NCHS Football Field in Newton.
