The Newton Public Library hosted the first of several library programs on Tuesday, June 7th at West End Event Center in Newton. “Silly Safaris” offered attendees to see many different animals and learn about them. The next program will be on Tuesday, June 14, and will be Leonardo Music.

Wendelin will be hosting their annual Wine Tasting on June 25th from 6-10:30pm with the wineries serving until 9 pm. This will be held at Holy Cross Parish Grounds in Wendelin. There is a $10 admission and domestic beer will also be available for purchase. Must be 21 to enter.
The Embarras River Basic Agency will be distributing Federal Surplus Commodities on June 9th at 904 W. Jourdan St. in Newton. After hours distribution is from 4 pm to 6 pm while supplies last. Please bring bags to pick up commodities. For those unable to come to the “after hours”
