Jasper County Junior High Band Camp is August 5th through the 8th from 12:00-3:30, with a band-aides meeting at 5:00 on Monday. Camp fees are $20.
Michaela Baker took time out of her busy summer schedule to update us and the community on her ideas for the upcoming year, her platform, and what she hopes to be able to accomplish as Miss Jasper County Fair Queen. Michaela’s platform for her reign is volunteerism within the community.
Gary and Terri Wolf will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary on August 4th, 2019. They were married on August 4th, 1979 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Island Grove. Gary & Terri have 3 children: Adam (Brooke) Wolf of Newton, IL, Ross (Lynn) Wolf of rural Wheeler, and Blake (Crystal) Wolf

Sarah Weiler rounded out the summer reading program for 2019 at the Newton Library. Over the summer, the Newton Public Library has had several community members attend Story Time and read books to the children in attendance.
Since there are several new administrators this year in Jasper County Schools, we thought we would take the time to introduce both the veteran administrators and the new ones. Today, we start with our high school and jr high principal Beth Probst. Beth was born and raised in Jasper County.
