
The Chamber of Commerce is accepting applications for a part-time Chamber Director, offering an opportunity for an organized, community-minded professional to help strengthen and support the local business community.
The position serves as the Chamber’s chief administrative and operational leader, overseeing daily operations while working closely with the Board of Directors to advance the organization’s mission. The Chamber Director will focus on promoting local businesses, growing Chamber membership, coordinating events, managing communications, and fostering strong relationships throughout the community.
Key responsibilities include recruiting and retaining Chamber members, serving as the primary contact for member businesses, organizing ribbon cuttings and recognition programs, and building partnerships with business owners, community leaders, and elected officials.
The director will also be responsible for planning Chamber events, networking opportunities, educational programs, and community engagement activities. Additional duties include recruiting volunteers, working with event sponsors, and representing the Chamber at public events and meetings.
Marketing and communication efforts are another important aspect of the role. The successful candidate will manage the Chamber’s website and social media platforms, prepare newsletters and press releases, create promotional materials, and help maintain a positive public image for the organization.
Administrative responsibilities include maintaining membership records, preparing invoices, collecting dues, monitoring accounts receivable, assisting with budget preparation and financial reporting, processing deposits, and supporting general office operations.
The Chamber Director will attend Board of Directors meetings, prepare agendas and meeting minutes, provide reports, and assist in carrying out strategic initiatives and policies established by the Board.
Applicants should possess strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills, along with the ability to work independently. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and social media platforms is required. Experience in event planning and marketing is preferred, while basic bookkeeping experience is considered a plus. An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field is preferred, although equivalent work experience will be considered.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills, strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a passion for supporting local businesses and community growth. Public speaking and representing the Chamber at community events are regular parts of the position.
The part-time position is scheduled for Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with evening and occasional weekend hours required for Chamber events, networking functions, and Board meetings.
The position offers a salary ranging from $18 to $20 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
