Chapter FN of the P.E.O.

Chapter FN of the P.E.O. Sisterhood met Feb.11 at the First Presbyterian Church.  President Lowelle Schaefer presided over the meeting.  Michelle Stone served as vice president pro-tem, Linda Coombes as chaplain pro-tem and Michele Wright as guard pro-tem.  Katina Roth read the minutes of the previous meeting and Jan Klier, treasurer gave the monthly report and announced 14 members were present.  Committee reports were given by Jane Casey, Barb Eaton, Faye Clapp, and Dolores Barni.  Lowelle read her excellent president’s letter which will be submitted to the state. Katina presented an excellent program involving Linda, Jane, Lowelle, Faye,Teresa Hartrich, and Michelle Stone.
The next meeting will be March 10 at the church.
Pat Hildebrand and Cindy Borgic provided delicious cherry and apple pie in honoring George Washington and Abe Lincoln’s birthdays.
P.E.O.’s mission is to celebrate the advancement of women; educate women through scholarships, grants, awards, loans and stewardship of Cottey College; and motivate women to achieve their highest aspirations.  The P.E.O. Sisterhood is a nonprofit organization that has helped more than 109,000 women pursue educational goals by providing almost $348,000millions in educational assistance, making a difference in women’s lives through six philanthropies and a foundation.
