Chapter FN met via Zoom on Dec.8 and Jan. 12. In Dec. we answered roll call telling our favorite Christmas lights, white or colored. We each shared a favorite family tradition that is celebrated each year. 12 members were present. The nominating committee was activated and all were reminded that dues need to be paid soon.
Beth Mammoser , president of FN presided over each meeting. Jan Klier as treasurer stated 12 members were present. She reported that we had a very successful fundraiser which we use to help one or more senior high women with an honorarium for furthering their education. She also is now collecting dues. Please mail them to her. The Educational Loan Fund is one method of helping women further their education. This is a 2% interest loan. Most recently P.E.O. helped Jordyn Huston who is pursuing a Doctor of Medicine, graduation date due in in 2022. We are so proud of her. Jordyn’s parents are Mike and Lisa Huston of Newton. We mourn the loss of two special members, Norma Kennedy and Alma LeFever. Prayers for their families.
Dolores Barni presented the program on the founders of P.E.O. They were 7 young women with vision, leadership and determination, founding P.E.O. in Jan. of 1869. Since that day over $369 million in educational grants, loans, awards, special projects and stewardship of Cottey College has benefited nearly 114,000 women. Contact any local member for information on how you may receive financial assistance from P.E.O. or get on the International P.E.O. website.
