Newton’s City-Wide Cleanup is scheduled for May 20 & 21.
Friday, May 20th from 7:00am-4:00pm
Saturday, May 21st from 7:00am-3:00pm
Now is the time to start cleaning up around your property!
Republic Services will be including a BULK item service on Friday May 20th only, picking up items throughout the city. Have those items curbside by 5:30 a.m.
NOTE – Items that are NOT acceptable for the Republic Services pickup include:
Tires Large Appliances Televisions Computers
Paint Tree Limbs Construction Material
Batteries Yard Waste Flammable / Hazardous Material
Very large Items that cannot be safely picked up by 2 individuals
ALL mattresses must be wrapped in plastic or they will not be accepted. Carpet must be cut in 4 foot sections to be picked up.
Any oversized items will need to be hauled to the large dumpsters located at the Street Department on Marion.
We will NOT be taking electronics! The Jasper County Highway Department holds at least 2 electronic recycling events each year, so we are not taking them during City Wide Cleanup.
Elderly and disabled people in need of assistance can call City Hall at 618-783-8451 on May 19, 2022, if they need help loading up large/awkward items they no longer want.

The Brush Dump will also be open for yard waste items on both days.
