District Governor Julie Dobsk Visits Newton Rotary

On August 20, the Newton Rotary Club enjoyed a visit and program from our District Governor Julie Dobski (far right), accompanied by her assistant Liz Palma (left), both from the Bloomington club, and our Assistant District Governor Carrie Crippen (second from left) of Effingham. Pictured with them, holding this year’s new theme banner is Newton club President Kris Newton. Dobski encouraged members to remind themselves of why they are Rotary members and to focus on new goals for the year. One of Rotary International’s main goals is to eradicate polio, which now remains in only two or three countries. The Newton club has always donated to this cause, which worldwide is matched by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Citing the theme “Rotary Connects The World”, we work together to create lasting change.
