The Newton Eagles boys soccer team picked up a convincing 7-0 victory over Tolono, putting together a dominant offensive performance while keeping their opponent off the scoreboard.
Henry Will led the Eagles with a three-goal, one-assist performance, while Evan Holder added two goals and two assists to help pace Newton’s attack.
Cylas Dickerson and Brett Bower each found the back of the net once in the victory.
Newton also received strong contributions from several players in the assist column. Daniel Falcioni recorded two assists, while Xavier Neal and Holden Barthelemy each added an assist.
The Eagles’ balanced offensive attack allowed Newton to control the match from start to finish and secure the shutout victory.
Newton will return to action Thursday when the Eagles take on Mattoon and Effingham in the Charleston Red and Gold Tournament.
