One year ago Newton faced the Olney Tigers in the LIC Conference Championship at Olney, this year they will face off again only this time Newton has the home advantage. We would like to challenge everyone to come out and support the Newton Community High School boys basketball team as they face the Olney Tigers for the second year in a row and fight for the title of LIC Conference Champs.
Last year, Newton upset the Tigers on their home court, this year let’s fill the NCHS gym with orange and blue and help encourage this team as they win this title for the second year in a row! The game will begin at 7:30 pm following the 3rd and 4th place game between Casey-Westfield and Lawrenceville.
The Eagles defeated Lawrenceville on Tuesday to advance to the Championship game with a final score of 65-60.
Lead scorer for the Eagles is Caden Nichols with 25 points (3,3,10 for 13) followed by Parker Wolf with 14 (2,3,1 for 2). Gus Bierman scored 11 (4,1). Jacob Weber scored 8 (3,0,2 for 2). Dylan Gier scored 7 (3,0,1 for 2).
