Eagles Fall to Flora on Homecoming

After the 50 year class had been introduced, the coin toss was completed with the football members from that class, Jacelyn Street was named Queen and Jarrett Tharp was named King, and the band played the school song and the Star Spangled Banner, the Newton Eagles football team began their homecoming 2019 game against Flora.
The only score of the game came when Eagles fumbled the ball and the Flora Wolves picked up the ball and scored.
Coach Fulton he spoke about the defense, offense and upcoming game with Olney. “The defense played really well in this game.  Defensively we did not give up any points.  The lone score came off an offensive fumble that was run into the end zone. Defense was really good again for the second week in a row. ”

“The offense struggled some with the exception of Adam Bridges.  Adam rushed for over 150 yards but did not find his way into the end zone.”

“This will be the biggest game of the season with Olney.  A huge rivalry game that is a must win for us.  We have to be at our very best this week.”
