Eagles Fall to Maroons

The Newton Eagles fell after a hard-fought battle against the Robinson Maroons on Friday. The Eagles started off the game with a touchdown after Drake Wolf ran 63 yards down the field after catching a pass by Hayden Mulvey. The Maroons countered with a 67 yard touchdown after Reese Johnson throws a pass to AJ Knoblett. Mulvey again throws a pass to Wolf for another 11 yard touchdown. Henry Will misses the extra point on this attempt. For the final touchdown of the first quarter, the Maroons score when Landyn Bonnell runs the ball in.

During the second quarter, Wolf again runs the ball into the endzone. For the two point conversion Mulvey throws the ball to Dexter Fulton who runs it into the endzone. Also in the second, Mulvey throws the ball to Quincy Fulton who has a 49 yard touchdown.

The Maroon score one touchdown during the third and fourth quarters to secure the win. One was scored by Bonnell and the other by Knoblett.

The Eagles will play their final home game of the season on Friday against Lawrenceville. Senior cheer, football, and band members will be recognized.
