Eagles Fall to Richland Co. 7-3

The Newton Eagles fell to Richland County with a final score of 7-3. The Eagles got n the board in the bottom of the second inning after Gus Bierman singled and Dexter Fulton hit into a fielder’s choice, each scoring one run.

Bierman took the loss for the Eagles. The reliever went four and one third innings, surrendering five runs (three earned) on five hits, striking out three and walking two. Dylan Gier stepped on the hill first for the Eagles. The starting pitcher surrendered one hit and zero runs over one and two thirds innings, striking out five and walking none. Dylan’s time on the mound ended abruptly when he took a blow to the head from a hit.

Bierman and Fulton each drove in one run for the Eagles. Bierman, Payton Harris, Max Meinhart, Kohlten Barthelme, and Isaac Flowers each collected one hit for the Eagles.
