Eagles First Win of the Season On Homecoming Night!

After a rough start to the season, the Newton Eagles gave fellow students, alumni, family, and fans their first win of the season at the homecoming game filled with an aura of excitement against the Paris Tigers and a final score of 20-14. Before the game, Avery Mulvey and Isaac Street were crowned homecoming royalty and the members of the 50 year class were introduced and the 50 year football team members participated in the ceremonial coin toss.

The Eagles took the field and battled back and forth with the Tigers throughout the first quarter with both teams Despite the lack of scoring the excitement was palatable especially when Kohlten Barthelme intercepts the pass thrown by Drew Rogers.

The first touchdown occurred when Hayden Mulvey threw the ball to Drake Wolf who ran it to the endzone. The extra point was good.

The second touchdown was for the Eagles as well when Mulvey handed the ball to Wolf who ran from the eight carrying the ball into the endzone. The extra point was good.

The third touchdown was for the Tigers when Rogers throws a pass to Crippes who ran the ball into the endzone. The extra point is good.

The Eagles scored one more touchdown when Mulvey threw the ball to Dexter Fulton who ran the ball into the goal. The extra point is missed.

The final touchdown of the occured when Rogers handed the ball off to Mason Brynes who ran the ball into the endzone. The extra point is good.
