Eagles Headed to Breese After Regional Win

Newton Varsity Eagles had everything working on Saturday, winning big over Paris Tigers Varsity 8-2

Newton Varsity Eagles got things started in the first inning. Isaac Flowers lined out, scoring one run.

Newton Varsity Eagles knotted the game up at two in the bottom of the second inning. Marc Jansen singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.

Newton Varsity Eagles pulled away for good with four runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Owen Mahaffey singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs and Flowers singled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs.

Brandon Einhorn was credited with the victory for Newton Varsity Eagles. The righty surrendered two runs on five hits over seven innings, striking out two and walking one.

Chance Lehman took the loss for Paris Tigers Varsity. The righty lasted five innings, allowing seven hits and six runs while striking out five.

Newton Varsity Eagles totaled ten hits in the game. Flowers, Carder Reich, and Mahaffey all managed multiple hits for Newton Varsity Eagles. Mahaffey, Reich, and Flowers each collected two hits to lead Newton Varsity Eagles. Newton Varsity Eagles didn’t commit a single error in the field. Flowers had the most chances in the field with four.

Sebastian Daughtery went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Paris Tigers Varsity in hits.
