Eagles Hit Double Digits Undefeated Season 10-0

The Lady Eagles remain undefeated after two more wins this week, fueled by standout showings from Camryn Martin and Avery Mulvey. The Eagles claimed a 7–2 victory over the Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg Hatchets on Thursday before unleashing an offensive onslaught Friday with a 16–1 win over the Farina South Central Lady Cougars.

Martin Sparks Early Rally Against the Hatchets

Camryn Martin proved to be a tough out in Thursday’s matchup, going 3-for-4 with a triple and two singles. The leadoff hitter set the tone early with a triple in the first, helping ignite a NCHS offense that tallied 12 hits on the day.

Audrie Reich got the scoring started in the first by drawing a bases-loaded walk. Reich later added to the scoreboard with a key RBI groundout in the third, as the Eagles extended their lead to 3–0. Alisson Stanley also contributed with an RBI groundout in the same inning.

Amelia Collins was dominant in the circle, going the distance for the win. She allowed just four hits and two runs—only one earned—while striking out eight and walking none over seven innings.

On the other side, Samantha Hayes took the loss for the Hatchets, giving up seven runs (four earned) on 12 hits over six innings.

The Eagles showed their speed on the basepaths as well, swiping seven bases, including two from Martin. Reich drove in four runs despite just one hit, showing her knack for producing under pressure.

Mulvey’s Long Balls Highlight Friday Blowout

One day later, it was Avery Mulvey’s turn to shine. The slugger launched two home runs and collected three RBIs in a five-inning rout of the Lady Cougars.

Mulvey got things started with a solo blast in the second, and then went deep again in the third as part of a five-run rally that gave NCHS a 6–1 lead. Bailee Frichtl delivered a two-RBI double during that inning, one of her two extra-base hits on the day.

The Eagles kept pouring it on with a six-run fifth inning, powered by a string of singles and aggressive baserunning. Jorjia Reich, Stanley, and Audrie Reich each drove in runs, while a costly error by the Lady Cougars brought home two more.

Collins once again handled business from the mound, earning her second win of the week. She limited Farina South Central to just three hits and one run, striking out one and walking two over five innings.

Mulvey and Reich were electric in the heart of the lineup, each notching three hits. Reich added two stolen bases, and the Eagles played error-free defense behind Collins, with Stanley leading the way with four fielding chances.

Looking Ahead

With momentum on their side and consistent performances from both veterans and emerging stars, the NCHS Varsity Eagles are shaping up to be a serious contender this season. Martin’s reliability at the top of the lineup and Mulvey’s power surge are giving opposing teams plenty to worry about, while Collins continues to anchor the defense with steady pitching.

As district play heats up, the Eagles are soaring—and they show no signs of slowing down.
