Eagles watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 5-1 loss to Altamont on Friday. Altamont scored on a double by Tyler Robbins, a single by Mason Robinson, a double by Jared Hammer, and a double by Wyatt Phillips in the first inning.
Altamont got things moving in the first inning, when Robbins doubled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs.
Robinson led the Altamont to victory on the mound. The fireballer allowed four hits and one run over seven innings, striking out eight.
Ross Farley took the loss for Eagles. Farley allowed six hits and five runs over two-thirds of an inning, striking out one and walking one.
Eagles totaled four hits. Jake Rice and Mason Mulvey all had multiple hits for Eagles. Mulvey and Rice all had two hits to lead Eagles.
Altamont racked up 11 hits on the day. Hammer and Robbins each managed multiple hits for Altamont. Hammer led Altamont with three hits in three at bats.
