Newton Varsity Eagles defeated Robinson 6-1 on Thursday.

Robinson got on the board in the first inning. Parker hit a solo homer.

Newton Varsity Eagles knotted the game up at one in the top of the second inning. David Ferguson singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.

Newton Varsity Eagles pulled away for good with two runs in the third inning. In the third Gage Reynolds homered on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

Newton Varsity Eagles scored three runs in the sixth inning. Ferguson and Isaac Flowers all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Brandon Einhorn earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for Newton Varsity Eagles. The righty went seven innings, allowing one run on four hits, striking out nine and walking one.

Nantz led things off on the hill for Robinson. The pitcher allowed four hits and three runs over five innings, striking out five. Davis and #32 entered the game as relief, throwing one and one-third innings and two-thirds of an inning respectively.

Newton Varsity Eagles launched one home run on the day. Reynolds had a homer in the third inning.

Flowers went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Newton Varsity Eagles in hits.

Newton Varsity Eagles fought back after falling down by four runs in the seventh inning. The comeback fell just short though, in a 6-5 defeat to Champaign Central on Saturday.

Newton Varsity Eagles lost despite out-hitting Champaign Central nine to five.

Newton Varsity Eagles tallied five runs in the seventh inning. The big inning was thanks to a home run by Carder Reich and a double by Dalton Baltzell.

Powers-Ege earned the win for Champaign Central. The bulldog went four and a third innings, allowing zero runs on five hits, striking out six and walking one. #22 threw two and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Dylan Gier led things off on the mound for Newton Varsity Eagles. Gier surrendered two runs on zero hits over three innings, striking out two. Gus Bierman and Logan Ochs entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two innings and one inning respectively.

Newton Varsity Eagles smacked one home run on the day. Reich had a long ball in the seventh inning.

Newton Varsity Eagles saw the ball well today, racking up nine hits in the game. Baltzell and Gage Reynolds each managed multiple hits for Newton Varsity Eagles. Reynolds and Baltzell each collected two hits to lead Newton Varsity Eagles.
