Eagles Soccer Riding Five-Game Winning Streak

The Newton Eagles soccer team has hit its stride, putting together an impressive five-game winning streak capped off with three big victories this past week. The surge has lifted the Eagles to a 7-1-0 record on the season and showcased their balance of scoring depth, teamwork, and defensive strength.

On September 2, Newton dominated at home against Pana, cruising to an 8-1 win. Luke Farley lit up the scoreboard with four goals, while Wade Ochs, Henry Will, Brock Anderson, and Daniel Falcioni each added one. Assists came from Lance Volk (2), Will, Farley, and Samuel Rodriguez.

Two nights later, the Eagles traveled to Staunton for a hard-fought battle. Newton emerged with a 3-2 victory, thanks to Brock Anderson’s two-goal effort and a tally from Oliver Ochs. Farley continued his playmaking streak by assisting on all three goals.

The Eagles capped the week in style on September 6 with a commanding 5-0 shutout at home over Charleston. Anderson once again led the way with a hat trick, while Farley and Falcioni chipped in a goal apiece. The offense was fueled by three assists from Will, along with helpers from Farley and Volk.

Equally impressive was the defensive unit of Wade Ochs, Brady Bergbower, Cylas Dickerson, Brett Bower, and goalkeeper Curtis Weber, who combined for the team’s third clean sheet of the season.

Newton’s combination of explosive offense and stingy defense has made them a tough matchup early in the fall. With momentum building and confidence high, the Eagles will look to keep their streak alive as they push deeper into the schedule.
