50th Wedding Anniversary
Garry and Dara Diel
On November 22, 1970, Dara Utley and Garry Diel were united in marriage at the First Baptist Church in Newton with Reverend Paul Fulk officiating. As their granddaughters like to say, their life together has been a true love story. Garry and Dara have spent these 50 years raising their family and teaching their kids and grandkids what true love is and what a strong and loving marriage requires.
Garry and Dara were blessed with 2 daughters, Amanda (Jeff) Zumbahlen and Jill (Ben) Bierman. They are most proud of their 9 grandchildren: Chase Zumbahlen and Jordan Zumbahlen, both 20; Eliza Bierman, 19; Jenna Zumbahlen and Riley Zumbahlen, both 18; Lily Bierman, 16; Gus Bierman and Hadley Zumbahlen, both 15; and Lucy Bierman, 12.
They will enjoy a family meal on their anniversary in their new home, missing only their grandson, Chase, who is serving in the U.S. Air Force in Alaska. The family enjoyed a vacation to Cocoa Beach, Florida in June in honor of their anniversary.
