Greg Ikemire and Mark Dougherty Retire from The Peoples State Bank Board of Directors

The Peoples Bancorp, Inc. Annual Meeting of Stockholders was held on April 15, 2024 in Newton, IL. Those in attendance honored and celebrated the retirements of Greg Ikemire and Mark Dougherty from the bank’s board of directors, both having served the bank and this community for 51+ years!.

Greg began his career with the bank in June 1973 and was promoted to the office of President/CEO in 1986. He was also appointed to the board of directors in that same year. Greg retired from his role as president in 2016, but has continued to serve as a director of the bank since that time.

Mark joined the bank in January 1973 and in 1986 was appointed to the board of directors as well as promoted to Executive Vice President and Senior Credit Officer. Mark retired from his day-to-day role at the bank in 2014, but continued to serve as a director until his recent retirement.

President Stacy Moore recognized the retirements of the two directors with great reservation, as the bank will be losing a wealth of experience, knowledge and guidance. Greg and Mark have had a tremendous impact on the success of this organization, having contributed in innumerable ways to the bank’s profitability and stability. Equally as important, they have influenced a vast number of people in this community and certainly in this organization.

Current EVP Brett Lessley, VP Eric Seitzinger and VP Melisa Griffith all shared memories and testimonies of their time and relationships with both Mark and Greg. It was evident that these two retirees will have a lasting influence on all those who were fortunate to have worked with them throughout their long tenure at The Peoples State Bank.
