HCE Week… October 9–13, 2023…is being celebrated state wide to promote HCE, uniting counties in creating public awareness and information about the organization, which was organized in 1924 in Illinois. Today, HCE is comprised of 5,250 women and men of Illinois. The mission of HCE is to enhance the lives of individuals and families through quality educational programs and experiences, while encouraging responsible leadership and service to the community. Altogether HCE members across Illinois volunteered more than 475,520 hours of their time to service projects last year.
October is a busy month for Jasper County HCE! The annual Butter Braid sale is September 29–October 13; delivery day is Tuesday, November 14, 4:00 pm, at Scott Avenue Church garage in Newton.
Also, Books For Beginners will be celebrated this week. HCE members are gifting all of Jasper County’s kindergarteners and their teachers with their own copy of Ape’s Great Escape!
In addition, RADA Cutlery will be sold October and November 2023.
