Jasper County CEO Trade Show

The CEO Trade show will be held on April 26th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at West End Event Center. At this event, attendees will be able to walk around and admire the hard work of the CEO students with the opportunity to purchase their goods. Below are the biographies of the students and information about their businesses.

Elley Bennett

About Me 

Elley Bennett is currently a Junior at Newton Community High School. She is involved in volleyball, basketball, track, Beta Club, Spanish Club, church youth group, and was in Highest Honors the past two years of High School. Outside of school, Elley enjoys spending time with her family and friends, being outdoors, and playing competitive games. Hopefully, being a part of the CEO program will help improve Elley’s professionalism, knowledge about businesses, and get to know her community better. She is excited and ready to see what CEO has to offer.

Sara Burtis

About Me 

Sara Burtis is a Junior at NCHS. She is a Class officer for her Junior class and is involved in FFA, Spanish Club, Math Club, Math Team, and Beta Club. She also works at Blue Beacon. She joined CEO because she has always wanted to start her own business but did not know where to start. In her free time, Sara likes to make items  with her cricut, play piano, crochet, and sew. After high school, Sara plans to attend college to become a chemical engineer.

Sara’s Crafty Cups is a company that specializes in making custom tumblers with names on them. Our company’s goal is to provide the community with quality products that fit their personality. We offer many different designs that you can personalize with your name or other wording of your choice. You can also get your logo if you want cups for a business. Alex Kaufmann

About Me 

Alex Kaufmann is a senior attending Newton Community High School. Outside of Ceo, he is Vice President of Newton’s FFA chapter. Alex has been a part of the soccer team, marching band, and National Honors Society all 4 years of high school. When Alex is not at school or attending school events, he is normally on his family ran cattle and grain farm. His plans after high school are to become an electrician or work in the construction industry, all while keeping the family farm going.

Lilly Kessler

About Me 

Lilly Kessler is currently a junior at Newton Community High School. In addition to CEO, she is involved in volleyball, basketball, and softball. Lilly is a member of the Beta Club, Spanish Club, and Student Council. She also is the Vice President of her church youth group. Outside of school, she enjoys bike rides and spending time with friends and family.

Platinum Pecans offers homemade delicious candied pecans. The perfect snack if you have a sweet tooth but still want a good source of protein. Platinum Pecans are locally grown pecans from Deters’ Pecans in Sigel. Community is something Platinum Pecans strives to include within the business. Lilly offers many different packaging options which makes her business unique. Here at Platinum Pecans, we strive for nuttin’ but the best!

Madalyn Rauch

About Me 

Madalyn Rauch is a Junior at Newton Community High School. She is involved in Student Council, Beta Club, and is a Football Manager. Outside of school, she works at her family jewelry store and Joe Cucinellla’s Italian Foods and Pizza in Newton. She enjoys spending time with family, friends, and dogs. Her favorite things to do in her free time are going camping, painting, and watching movies. She looks forward to learning about local businesses and meeting people involved with them.

Brooke Schafer is currently a junior at Newton Community High School. She is a member of Beta Club, Science Club, Spanish Club, and Captains Club as well as being a captain of the volleyball and track teams. In Brooke’s free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends and being outside.

Paige Zumbahlen

About Me 

Paige Zumbahlen is currently a Junior at Newton Community High School. Paige is in volleyball, club volleyball, Spanish Club, Science Club, and FFA. Outside of school, Paige enjoys working on the family farm and making time for friends and family. After high school, she plans on going to a community college, such as Lake Land, to pursue a degree in Animal Science or Crop, Soil and Environmental Management. Paige looks forward to learning all of the aspects of business that can help her succeed in the future.
