Jasper County celebrated Christmas with a one night event including baked goods, popcorn, Bierman farms, Santa, music and a Christmas Cruise.
The evening was cool, but clear as the community came out to celebrate the first annual Jasper County Christmas event. The Embarras River Brass Band played music which could be heard around the square as the hot cocoa from Parrott Real Estate and Auction served at the beginning of the book walk created by the Newton Public Library. Santa and Mrs. Clause could be found in front of Joe’s and Saved by Grace Animal Rescue had items in Farley Insurance to help raise money for the worthy cause.
The evening ended with a Christmas Cruise through Newton, through Peterson Park, past Clara Short’s house, to Willow Hill and ending in Ste. Marie.
