(EFFINGHAM, Illinois – November 21, 2024) Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation is pleased to announce three area nonprofits have been named recipients of the inaugural Jasper County Community Endowment Grant. Grants are awarded annually to nonprofit organizations serving in Jasper County. Each recipient received the grant award at the SICF grant reception held on November 13, 2024.
Embarras River Basin Agency received $1,000 for the “Jasper County – Remain in Our Homes- Healthy Homes Project.”
The “Jasper County – Remain in Our Homes – Healthy Homes” project addresses housing instability and health disparities by offering financial assistance, financial literacy education, legal advocacy referrals, and home repair support to low-income families. Through community partnerships, the project aims to prevent foreclosure and eviction, improve home safety, and reduce health disparities for Jasper County residents. Recognizing stable housing as a critical social determinant of health, this comprehensive initiative supports those facing housing challenges to ensure a healthier, more secure community.
Family Life Center received $1,000 for the “Serving the Underprivileged in Jasper County” grant request. Funds will be used for car seats. Car seats are vital for the safety of newborns and are seen as essential items. This will ensure that clients can focus on what matters most—caring for their new babies—without the worry about securing a car seat.
The Limitless Fund received $1,000 for Integrated Therapy Services grant request. The Limitless Fund, established through donations, supports clients of Integrated Therapy Services (Meraki Health) by providing outpatient therapy tailored to individual needs. Children receive individual support from therapy technicians and participate in group activities led by an educational facilitator, with services integrated by clinicians specializing in various therapeutic areas. The program operates year-round, structured around a traditional school year with a summer program.
