Jasper County Community Unit #1, Board of Education Meeting

Report August 17, 2026

Superintendent’s Report

  • Jasper County School District discussed the tentative budget for FY 27
  • Overall, the district ended the fiscal year in good standing with revenues exceeding budgeted numbers and expenditures less than predicted with a surplus in the Education Fund,  Operation & Maintenance Funds, and the Transportation Fund.
  • The budget for FY 27 looks to balance in Transportation if all revenues from the state are received in the fiscal year.
  • The Operation & Maintenance Fund and Capital Fund will see several expenses for the Building Addition at NES this year as the addition will be completed in the Spring of 2027.
  • At this time, the Education Fund looks to be in a deficit.  The District will monitor revenues and expenditures in the Education Fund in hopes of finishing without a deficit.
