Jasper County HCE Celebrates 81st Annual Banquet with “Experience the Magic” Theme

Jasper County HCE celebrated its 81st annual banquet and meeting at the University of Illinois Extension Office/Center in Newton with the theme “Experience The Magic of Jasper County HCE.”

The evening highlighted the organization’s long history, community involvement and continued commitment to learning, service and fellowship. Connie Elliott gave a magical presentation covering HCE throughout the years, from 1945 through 2026.

Audrey Elliott was announced as the recipient of the 2026 HCE Scholarship in the amount of $500.

Ashley Davis, IAHCE Assistant District 3 Director and assistant to District 3 Director Donna Richards, installed the 2026-2027 HCE officers during the banquet.

Tammy Colesby won the free membership for 2026. RADA attendance prizes were also given throughout the evening.

Those attending enjoyed a meal prepared by Hartrich Meats & Catering of Sainte Marie.

The group also recognized Taylor Kerner for his vision in transforming the former Marshall Bros. Furniture building into the University of Illinois Extension Office/Center in Newton.

Everyone in attendance went home with a magic wand and encouragement to create their own magic in the year ahead.
