The Jasper County Retired Teacher Scholarship winner for the 2023 year is Jaleena Hemrich. Jaleena graduated from Newton Community High School in 2022 and graduated from Lincoln Trail College in 2023. Her parents are Jackson Hemrich and Tina Purcell. She will be a Junior at Eastern Illinois University in the fall where she will be working towards earning a Bachelor’s of Science in Secondary Education with a major in Family Consumer Science.
