All Jasper County students grades 2nd through 8th are invited to participate in the first Jasper County Youth Theater Camp. This two week camp will teach students acting, singing, and choreography skills, culminating in a 30 minute performance of Disney The Jungle Book Kids musical.
The participation fee of $100 includes supervision, instruction, a t–shirt, any additional costuming that might incur, and 2 tickets to the performance. Additional tickets will be $3.00.
All registered students will participate. There will be an audition on April 6th beginning at 4:00 for part placement and casting only. Students will be asked to sing a short song such as “Happy Birthday” or “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” as well as recite from memory and act a short excerpt from the musical for the audition, which is attached. Again, this is just for part placement. No students will be cut from the show.
Rehearsals will be Monday through Friday from 8:00–12:00 beginning June 1st through June 12th. All rehearsals are mandatory for every student. Because it is a short time window, any missed rehearsal will be extremely difficult to make up. The performance will be held June 12th at 7:00 in the high school auditorium. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend.
