Superintendent’s Report:
- The Jasper County School District received state designations for testing early this month.
- Newton Community High School and Newton Elementary Schools were deemed as “Commendable Schools” for the 2022-2023 school year.
- Jasper County Junior High School was deemed as a “Targeted School” due to a subgroup of 20 or more students who did not meet state requirements.
- The District will continue to work with our subgroups to meet requirements set forth by the State of Illinois.
New Business
- Approved the FY 23 Annual Finance Report from Kemper Financial.
- The District received the highest grade possible for the financial audit.
- Approved bid for labor from Shay Roofing for the Jasper County Junior High School Roof and portions of Newton Community High School Roof for $409,342.
- Materials for the project will be $171,447.
- Approved SmithenryTrenching bid for concrete work for NCHS Greenhouse for $77,159 contingent on greenhouse purchase.
- No bids were received for the greenhouse itself.
- Approved posting the Tax Levy for 2023.
- Approve to let bids for District fuel.
- Approved superintendent to apply for Illinois State Maintenance Grant.
Action out of Executive Session
- Approve to keep closed session minutes closed from July 1, 2019 – December 31, 2019.
Resignations
- Approved resignation of Andrea Cleaver as NCHS JV Softball Assistant Coach.
- Approved resignation of Kryton McNair as NCHS Assistant Scholastic Bowl Coach.
- Approved resignation of Bethany Orsburn as a District Paraprofessional.
Hires
- Approved the hire of Tara Ederer as a District Paraprofessional.

- Approve to advertise NCHS Assistant Softball Coaching position
- Approve to advertise NCHS Assistant Scholastic Bowl Coaching position
- Approve to advertise two Jasper County School District Bus District
