Jenna Ochs from West Liberty, member of St. Mary’s Assumption Catholic Church,
Sainte Marie, a graduate of Newton Community High and daughter of Jeff and Lisa Ochs
has been awarded a $1000 scholarship from the Springfield Diocesan Council of Catholic
Women. Jenna plans to attend Illinois Central College and study Sports
Medicine/Physical Therapy. She will also be playing volleyball for ICC. She has been
an active member of her church, school, and community where she exemplifies
leadership, faith, and service.
Ava Kessler, from Newton and a member of Holy Cross of Wendelin Catholic Church,
Newton is a recent graduate of Newton Community High
and has been awarded a $1000 scholarship from the Springfield Diocesan Council of
Catholic Women. She is the daughter of Dan and Kim Kessler. Ava plans to attend the
The University of Illinois enrolling in General Studies. She has been an active member of her
church, school, and community where she exemplifies leadership, faith, and service.
