What other sports and activities – clubs, organizations, groups (in and out of school) have you been in during your time at NCHS? –
Cheerleading, Spanish Club, Math Club, Beta Club, Star Spangled Banner Club, Band, Musical (Cast), Chorus, Solo & Ensemble.
What made you decide this school was the best fit for you? I decided that Olney Central College was the best choice for me because it’s close to home and has an amazing music program. I’m excited to continue singing in college.
How do you feel NCHS has prepared you for this next step in life? NCHS has prepared me very much for my next step in life. NCHS provided me with great role models and teachers who taught me many life lessons. NCHS also offered many great opportunities to further my education in music.
What are at least two life lessons you have learned from your musical time at NCHS? One of the many life lessons I learned during my musical time at NCHS was to not only be confident in my performance, but to also be confident in myself. Another life lesson I learned at NCHS was to not let rejection or criticism stop me from continuing to do what I love.
How have your instructors and/or directors helped prepare you to perform at a collegiate level? My instructors at NCHS helped prepare me to perform at a collegiate level because they always encouraged me to learn from my mistakes and try again. They never let me give up. A special thanks to Mr. Finley for pushing me extra hard to reach my full potential and always believing in me.
What will you miss the most next year about not being a Newton Eagle? What I will miss most about being a Newton Eagle is the feeling of being a part of something great. The amazing teachers and role models, the memories, and a community full of people who truly care is something irreplaceable.
