John Irvin Fasig, age 89

John Irvin Fasig, age 89, of Greenup, Illinois, passed away at 12:25 PM – Monday, April 10, 2023, at his home.
Private family services will be held with burial in the Jack Oak Cemetery north of Greenup, Illinois.
Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home – Bishop Chapel in Greenup, Illinois.

John was born on January 16, 1934, in Charleston, Illinois, the son of Glenn and Geneva (Mitchell)
Fasig. He married Barbara Faye Hayes on February 16, 1955, and she preceded him in death on
October 30, 2014.
John was a truck driver and worked until he was 75 years old. He was a member of the teamsters,
VFW and the American Legion.
John enjoyed camping and fishing.
John is survived by:
Children – John Fasig, Jr (special friend Ada Purcell) of Hazel Dell, Illinois; Howard (Tamera) Fasig of
Cape Girardeau, Missouri; Glen Fasig (special friend Alice Mitchell-Gore) of Mattoon, Illinois; Teresa
Millage (Lonnie Finks) of Greenup, Illinois; Connie (Marvin) Craig of Charles City, Virginia
Sister – Doris Trexler of Mattoon, Illinois
Several grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren also survive.
John was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
