In Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Avery will portray Potiphar and Issachar. Avery is the son of Shane and Tanya Howard.
What musicals have you been in at NCHS and what characters/roles did you play?
At NCHS I have been in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolored Dream Coat. In this musical I played the role of Potiphar and Issachar.
What was your favorite musical and why?
My favorite musical would have to be Joseph because it is the only one I have been in.
What scene in Joseph is your favorite and why? (This does not have to be a scene you are in)
My favorite scene in Joseph is the western scene because it is very well choreographed and fits well.
What are three things being in the musical have taught you? and how have you learned these?
Three things that being in musical has taught me would be working with others, patients, and perseverance.
What are two pieces of advice you would give young people who want to start performing in musicals at NCHS?
Two pieces of advice I would give to younger performers would be too keep and open mind and don’t dis on something just because it’s out of your comfort zone.
What qualities do you see exemplified in the adults who help put on this show that you will take with you as you leave NCHS and how do they demonstrate these qualities?
The adults that worked with us never gave up given the unforeseen circumstances that were thrown at us this year and last.
What will you miss the most once the final curtain closes on your NCHS musical career?
The one thing I will miss the most are the friendships.
