Keith James Long, age 62, of Newton, passed away peacefully at 8:20 PM at his residence surrounded
by his wife and children.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saint Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, Illinois on
Tuesday, August 8th at 10:00 AM with burial to follow at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Newton, Illinois.
Visitation will be on at Saint Thomas the Catholic Church on Monday, August 7 th from 4-6 PM and on
Tuesday, August 8 th from 9:00 Am to 9:30 Am prior to the Mass. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Jasper County Cancer Fund in memory of Keith. Keith was born on December 17, 1960 in Olney, Illinois the son Donald Lee and Ladora Margaret (Frichtl) Long.
He married the love of his life Karen E. Hubbert on November 13, 1982, and she survives.
Keith loved his family and enjoyed being around them. He enjoyed being with his friends and co-workers.
Keith worked for Norris Electric for 41 years as a lineman and he truly enjoyed his work. Keith was an
outdoors man, where he would hunt, farm, and just spent time in the woods. Keith will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Keith is survived by his wife Karen; his mother, Ladora; his children, Kurt Long and Kasandra Charters,
Kristopher and wife Nicole Long; Grandchildren Tieler Long, Lilly Long, Abigail Long, Madelyn Long, and
Payton Smith; brother Doug and Jan Long; sisters Lois Emmerich and Evelyn and Don Zuber.
Keith is preceded in death by his father, grandparents and his mother and father-in-law.
