
The Newton Lady Eagles recognized Craig Carr for his retirement as the Athletic Director of Newton Community High School. They also recognized Elise Denoncin, foreign exchange daughter of host parents Jeffrey and Kristie Finley, since she was sick on Senior Night.
Newton Varsity Lady Eagles took the lead late and defeated Teutopolis 7-4 on Friday. The game was tied at four with Newton Varsity Lady Eagles batting in the bottom of the sixth when Addy O’Dell singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.
O’Dell collected four hits in four at bats to help lead Newton Varsity Lady Eagles to victory. O’Dell singled in the first, tripled in the second, singled in the fourth, and singled in the sixth.

Olivia Hemmen took the loss for Teutopolis. Hemmen surrendered seven runs on ten hits over five and a third innings, striking out one.
