Lady Eagles Defeat Richland Co. in Autism Awareness Game

Newton Varsity Lady Eagles defeated Richland County Lady Tigers Varsity 4-2 on Monday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at one with Newton Varsity Lady Eagles batting in the bottom of the fifth when Kayla Kocher laid down a sacrifice bunt, scoring one run.
Richland County Lady Tigers Varsity opened up scoring in the second inning, when Jorri VanDyke grounded out, scoring one run.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, Newton Varsity Lady Eagles tied things up at one when Camryn Martin singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.
Kocher was the winning pitcher for Newton Varsity Lady Eagles. Kocher went seven innings, allowing two runs on four hits, striking out six and walking one.

Newton Varsity Lady Eagles claimed a 6-3 victory on Tuesday, despite a big push by Mt. Carmel Varsity Lady Aces in the fourth inning. Libby Hortin and Mattie Armstrong all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.
Newton Varsity Lady Eagles fired up the offense in the first inning. Bailee Frichtl drove in one when Frichtl singled.
